The Savage Caves: Original Story by T.H. Lain A Fan-Fiction Reimagining: Walthus Proudstump Chapter 21           Lidda screamed as the bugbear crushed her forearm, the halfling woman feeling bone snap as its powerful hand yanked her from the ground and roughly carried her to the edge of the pit. Pain surged through her arm and the woman suddenly felt a wave of nausea wash over her, drawing bile into her mouth. She coughed, which racked her arm with even more blinding pain as she wriggled in the bugbear’s impossible grasp.           She looked through teary eyes at Jozan, who stood in the bottom of the pit looking horrified - and unarmored, unarmed and exhausted-looking. The halfling almost whimpered as she saw him. He couldn’t help her. If Rezrek wanted to kill her, he could. And she knew he would. She sobbed as he held her out over the pit, dangling her like an unwanted doll. She felt his grip loosen, her battered arm slippin...

The Savage Caves - Chapter 20

The Savage Caves: Original Story by T.H. Lain A Fan-Fiction Reimagining: Walthus Proudstump Chapter 20           Rezrek bore down on the smaller man, swinging his warhammer hard. His arms were much longer than the little man’s and he kept him on his toes, constantly needing to back away from the bugbear’s approach. He pushed the other warrior closer to the wall, hearing the sounds of Ripper growling and snarling. Fidul’s strange yell was cut off suddenly but Rezrek didn’t care. He was fully focused on killing the man and knew that Ripper would deal with the little woman soon enough. Then they would both rip the man’s stomach open and eat his inside while he was still awake. The bugbear grinned at the thought. The man narrowed his eyes. The little one had thrown him his blade but it didn’t matter. Rezrek knew his warhammer was stronger. He was stronger. The man stepped back, wincing again as his leg continued to bleed. He was leaving footprints of blood ...

The Savage Caves: Original Story by T.H. Lain A Fan-Fiction Reimagining: Walthus Proudstump Chapter 19           Regdar shoved Lidda out of the way, the little woman tumbling to his side and getting back to her feet as smoothly as Regdar might slip into a saddle. As she rolled, he saw that her eyes never left the creature that charged them. Its unnatural skin-pulling trick had shaken her, the warrior knew. He’d never seen a krenshar but he’d heard tales of them. It was disgusting, sure, but Regdar had seen some strange things in his time serving the Dukes. He was harder to shake than most. The krenshar, flesh still pulled back and screaming, sank its great fangs deep into the exposed warrior’s forearm. The plating there was strong; little spikes of metal jutted out from the shaped metal and more than once Regdar had used his bracers to turn aside a blow. As the thing bit down, it growled against the spikes that dug into its mouth. Blood gushed from the wo...

The Savage Caves: Original Story by T.H. Lain A Fan-Fiction Reimagining: Walthus Proudstump Chapter 18           The smell of body odor drew Lidda’s fluttering eyelids open and she nearly gagged, her hand immediately shooting up to her small mouth to cover it and her nose. But her hand didn’t move. She’d been out for a long time, she could tell - but not exactly how long. Her body felt stiff. She looked down and realized she was bound - no, she was attached to someone that was moving. And her head hurt ! She winced at the feeling in the side of her head and tried to get her bearings. She was moving, she could see that and as her eyes unblurred from the intense pain in her head she realized she was tucked in the leather belt of one of the bugbears. The smell was from him.           She let her body sag again and felt Tazerg stir next to her. As his eyes opened, she blinked her eyes a few times at him and gently shook her head. S...
